Day 172 - Foggin & Trix's Topographical Adventure

When an old friend from high school got in touch to tell me she was living in Teaneck, it only seemed right to arrange to get together (for the first time in 18 years!) uptown, near the GW Bridge. Besides, I've been fascinated of late with the dramatic topography of upper Manhattan--and the step streets that define some of the thoroughfares there as a result...

Hey, I made it to your blog! What a nice present! That was certainly a memorable afternoon. Here's one anecdote I remember: You and I chugging up one of the step streets, you all concentrated, and afterwards you went, "How many did you count?" And I was like, "Oh, I was looking at the scenery..." Then you whipped out your small notebook and scrawled some numbers, and I was all la-de-da as I continued paying attention to the buildings + people around us. That was SUCH a nice winter afternoon together. :-)
